From 23th April to 8th May 2012, CISCA has the pleasure of welcoming two visiting professors from our partner institution Sri Venkateshwara College in New Delhi - CISCA board member Nirmal Kumar and Chandermohan Rawat, who have been annual guests in Aarhus. Their time in Aarhus will be spent co-teaching and assisting CISCA in writing an Erasmus Mondus application.
In week 16, CISCA have the pleasure of two visiting professors from IIT Madras, namely Dr. Jyotirmaya Tripathy and Dr. Sudarsan Padmanabhan, who have visited Aarhus University several times before. Their time in Aarhus will be spent co-teaching and assisting CISCA in writing an application for Erasmus Mondus.
From 15th to 22nd March 2012, Aarhus University and CISCA will welcome Dr. Pierre Gottschlich of University of Rostock. As a part of the ERASMUS programme, Dr. Gottschlich will take up the role as exchange teacher/guest faculty while he is in Aarhus.

On 21st and 22nd of November, the final conference of the India EU Study Centre Programme in Delhi took place. An MoU to create the European Association of India Study Centres (EAISC) was signed. Click here to read more and see a few photos.

On 14th December, CISCA and Aarhus University welcomed a 2nd year class from Skive
Gymnasium. As the students are going on a 2-week study trip to Delhi and Chennai in January, they were presented with a History lecture by CISCA board member, Prof. Niels Brimnes, and another board member, Gitte Grønning Munk, provided them with basic knowledge of Hindi. Lastly, our Research Trainee Priyanka Dalal along with two older South Asian Studies students gave tips on India and university studies. .

Aleksandra Machura, who was at Aarhus University and CISCA on an internship in August/September 2011, has now made her project about Indians living in Denmark available. Click here to download.
Indians in Aarhus and Aarhus University have cooporated to create a language buddy programme. The programme puts students in contact with Hindi-speaking Indians in Aarhus. By this the Hindi Students will get a golden opportunity to get away from the grammer books and practice and improve their Hindi. In exchange the Hindi students offer to practice Danish with their Indian buddy. We are happy to announce this mutual beneficial language programme.
CISCA is pleased to announce that an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) has been signed with the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations). The first ICCR visiting professor will be announced soon and is expected to teach in Aarhus in autumn / winter 2011.
